Since 1969, Lake Highlands Women’s League has been committed to our community by providing volunteers and grants in support of local non-profit agencies and scholarships for graduating Lake Highlands High School seniors. Today, 100 active members and over 250 sustaining members continue the legacy of raising and distributing an impressive amount of money towards very worthy causes.
Lake Highlands Women’s League is committed to giving our time to serve our community. Each year our active members volunteer with our local schools and non-profits. Here are just a few ways we help:
-
Local schools - one-on-one or small group tutoring, teacher's aide, teacher appreciation events, library assistance, gardening
-
Feed Lake Highlands - fellowship meals, cleaning days, casserole prep, food distribution
-
Bright Futures - ESL assistance, toddler time, mentoring
-
Kids U - tutoring, reading
-
Forerunner - mom's night out meal prep
-
and more!
The entire membership works hard to make our signature fundraiser, Holiday in the Highlands, a success. Always held on the first Friday in December, and celebrating its 46th year, our tour and Sip & Shop Market is the traditional beginning of the holiday season and a beloved neighborhood tradition.
